Charlie – Commode chair
Charlie is a delightful 6 year old boy, loving his first year at school. Charlie has quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and requires supportive equipment and assistance for all mobility and activity throughout his day, including self care, communication and play.
MAD Foundation was contacted by the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre, early this year, when Charlie was due to start school. Charlie was in need of a supportive toilet chair, with supports and harness to ensure his safety at school. As Charlie already has this NDIS funded equipment at home, it is not replicated for use at school. MAD was able to fund and deliver this chair to school, for the commencement of the school year. We are overjoyed to hear that Charlie has settled into his new school beautifully and is loving being with his friends everyday.
It is lovely to be able to thank the Foundation that has helped my son to be able to go to the toilet with dignity at school. Thank you so much for helping us to provide him with the kind of care he would receive at home while he is at school. It has made a huge difference for him… He really loves being able to go to school with his peers.
Thank you so much for everything you do for other children to be able to have the equipment and resources they need to keep up and interact with the other children in their class. It means the world to them and their parents. There is only so much each parent can afford to do for their children, though we want to give them everything they need, thank you for filling in the gaps of funding so our children can have the same set up at school that they have at home. What a wonderful organisation and thank you for everything you do.
Thank you so much. (Charlie’s Mum)
