Stella – Special chair with harness

This is Stella, a young girl who has been on a big journey following cancer of the bone and tissue around the pelvis. As a result of significant treatment and surgery, Stella has structural changes to her pelvis that impact her strength and stability in sitting and standing. She required support in seating and a frame to walk and weight bear through her legs.

MAD Foundation was able to provide funding for a special chair with harness, that enables her to participate in activities at a tabletop, including mealtimes with her family. MAD also funded a new walker, more mobile and supportive, which provides her with independence to be actively involved with her friends.

Stella has no NDIS funding and her parents, already under financial hardship from medical and rehabilitation costs, were incredibly grateful to receive this support.

I would like to thank you and the MAD Foundation for accepting to help our family. We are so appreciative of your kind gesture! This will really make Stella’s mealtime so much more enjoyable!!! And perfect timing as it is Stella’s 4th birthday today!! Stella loves her chair and sitting up at the table with us all!!!!
