Grace – Supportive Stroller
Grace is a 3 year old twin, who lives with 3 sisters and her parents in regional Victoria. Grace has a diagnosis of lissencephaly, a rare gene linked brain malformation and a life shortening condition. The family has had many expenses with regular trips to Melbourne for Grace’s medical treatments, a modified car, home modifications and numerous equipment needs.
Originally, The MAD Foundation was approached for funding for a new stander, to assist in pre and post care for a planned hip surgery. Unfortunately, Grace’s circumstances changed and due to increased seizures, surgery had to be put on hold.
The highest priority for Grace became, a suitable and supportive stroller. This stroller has enabled Grace to:
- Be safely positioned in seating position during feeding/PED feeds
- Allow her to play with her switch toy and build on play skills
- Enable her to safely access the community
Thank you so much for letting me know and for this extremely kind gesture. I know that this means the world to the family. I can’t thank you and the Board enough! (Rachelle Nesbitt, Early Intervention/OT, Noah’s Ark, Inc.)
We are so grateful to the MAD Foundation for helping us.
