Cam Mackenzie News

As if he hasn’t already done enough for MAD, we are delighted to announce that Cam Mackenzie is joining us as MAD’s newest ambassador.

Cam’s involvement with MAD began back in 2001, long before he ever thought of founding a gin distillery—let alone gaining international recognition as the founder of Four Pillars Gin. From MAD’s inception, he eagerly engaged the Yarra Valley Wine Community. He helped secure donations of wine and auction items from Wolf Blass, Sticks Wines, and Punt Road Wines.

Cam’s support for MAD was especially evident during the challenging COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020 and 2021. At a time when many organisations were struggling, Cam stepped in and crafted the special edition MAD Foundation Four Pillars of the Community Gin. This initiative provided crucial financial support, ensuring that MAD could continue its vital work during one of the most difficult periods in recent history.

Cam said, “I have always loved being a part of MAD and contributing wherever I can. I love the direct impact MAD makes for its beneficiaries and how the extended network of volunteers just makes it all happen.”

Beyond his work with MAD, Cam has had a remarkable career. Before founding Four Pillars Gin, he represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics as part of the 4x400m relay team. As Master Distiller of Four Pillars, Cam guided the company to international success. It was named International Gin Producer of the Year three times. In 2023, he was inducted into both the UK Icons of Gin Hall of Fame and the Australian Distillers Association Hall of Fame.

Cam’s long-term support for MAD reflects his deep-rooted passion for helping others. He has been, and continues to be, an indispensable part of the foundation’s history and future. We are incredibly proud to welcome Cam Mackenzie as an ambassador of the MAD Foundation.
