MAD’s team of heroes at the RCH
On Friday 20th September 2019 the MAD Foundation held its Beneficiary Morning Tea in the Parkville Café at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Each year this very special morning tea brings together our beneficiaries, MAD Foundation supporters and the amazing staff from the Royal Children’s Hospital. It was a great chance for us to meet in person and share stories about the contribution each of us are making to help the MAD Foundation make a difference.
The team at the Royal Children’s Hospital are the real heroes in so many of our stories. We’re glad that so many of the therapists, nurses and doctors could attend on the day. The trusted connection to the Department of Neurodevelopment and Disability at the RCH is integral to the way MAD operates. Referrals from the trusted team at the RCH are critical in enabling us to work directly to bring fast and accessible funding support for equipment and services for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.
Over the years MAD has funded the purchase of wheelchairs, hoists and slings, therapeutic beds, bathroom modifications, car seats and home seating systems, walking frames, communication and voice output devices, second skin garments and rehabilitation sessions, supporting hundreds of beneficiaries and families and totalling over $1.5M (2019).
