Support Spotlight – Custom Wig

In 2024, MAD helped fund a custom wig for a teenage student recovering from serious illness.

Her illness caused significant hair loss. This made her anxious about returning to school and being seen by her peers.

Her care team recommended a custom wig to support her confidence and emotional wellbeing.

MAD helped close the funding gap. Her family and several other organisations also contributed to the cost.

Her father shared:

“This afternoon, she proudly wore her wig and enjoyed a lovely shopping trip with us. We are deeply grateful for all your help in making this possible.”

This simple but powerful support helped her take an important step forward. She could return to daily life with greater comfort and self-assurance.
