Support Spotlight – Custom Wig

In 2024, MAD contributed funding toward a custom wig for a teenage student recovering from a serious illness that resulted in significant hair loss. The experience had left her anxious about returning to school and being seen by her peers, and the wig was recommended as a way to support her confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Multiple organisations and her family contributed to the cost, with MAD helping to close the funding gap.

As her father shared:

“This afternoon, she proudly wore her wig and enjoyed a lovely shopping trip with us. We are deeply grateful for all your help in making this possible.”

With this simple but powerful support, she’s been able to take an important step forward in returning to daily life with greater comfort and self-assurance.
