Georgia – Crocodile walker, leg orthoses, Juni support chair

 In Thank yous

Georgia is a sweet, happy 2 year old toddler. She was born preterm and has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy Spastic Quadriplegia, where all 4 limbs are affected with impaired motor control and tone.

As Georgia became more physically mobile and began progressing to being on her feet, she required support to help advance her mobility. MAD Foundation has funded a Crocodile walker and prescribed bilateral leg orthoses, allowing a dramatic improvement to Georgia’s development and motor skill acquisition.

More recently, MAD has also funded a Juni chair with postural support for daily activities like playtime and mealtimes.

All these items are expensive and beyond the reach of the family with very limited financial capacity and living in Melbourne under a graduate visa, without eligibility for the NDIS.

“I would really like to thank you for arranging the funds to purchase the walker for Georgia. Georgia is walking with the support of the walker very quickly and that was really good. We can see good progress in Georgia’s walking ability as she is spending most of the time in her walker. Providing equipment is immense support for those who can not afford those expenses and don’t have Medicare. Without your support we would not be able to buy this equipment and I cannot imagine how it would affect my child. Whenever I see her progress and developments, I pray for you all to have a blessed life forever.” (Georgia’s mother)
